Reliable sources confirm that Karroubi was attacked while trying to attend protests in Sadeghieh square. His car was damaged, but reports that indicate that Karroubi was not seriously hurt. However he was forced to return home due to the attacks by government thugs.

According to ParlemanNews, Basij and plain clothes militia attacked Mehdi Karoubi while he was attending the demonstration so that his car was vandalised and he had to leave the rally after police intervention and when tear gas was fired.
