Regime Disrupts Funeral of Montazeri Widow

Sadly the widow of Grand-Ayatollah Montazeri passed away, but the regime won't even allow a proper funeral for her. An English summary from Mousavi's Facebook:

While the family of late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri, the spiritual father of the Green movement, were planning on having the funeral for the departed wife of Grand Ayatollah Montazeri from his house to the shrine of her holiness Masoumeh (the sister of Imam Hossein, the third Imam of Shia) in Qom, the security officials objected to this event.

Ahmad Montazeri, the son of late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri told BBC Persian in an interview that the officials limited the funeral ceremony to 150m of the burial site which was objected by the family. At the end, it was not permitted to have a public funeral but public can gather in the shrine of her holiness Masoumeh where Grand Ayatollah Shobeyri-Zanjani will say the prayer for the departed wife of late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri and then the body will be carried to Bab-al-Jannat (the door to heaven) mosque and then to the cemetery.

Late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri, the spiritual father of the Green movement, passed December of the last year and his funeral and other ceremonies held for his commemoration across the country, which millions of Green mourners took part in them, turned to another venue for showing the power of Green movement to the government which led to more government’s crackdown and their prevention of ceremonies for late Grand Ayatollah Montazeri including in Esfahan, Shiraz and Zanjan.
