In an unusual move Ahmadinejad names names Majid Alavi as acting Minister of Intelligence, but names himself caretaker minister until a new cabinet is formed.
Alavi will "observe the conduct of the deputies and managers of the Intelligence Ministry and submit reports to the president." Essentially that seems to mean that Ahmadinejad is the one that ultimately the head of the Ministry of Intelligence with Alavi being his deputy who oversees opearations. This move creates a legal limbo in wich Alavi is not technically Minster of Intelligence with that title apparently going to Ahmadinejad in a new power grab.
