Government Again Violates Constitution with Bolivia Loan

Ahmadinejad with the President of Bolivia Evo Morales

Two members of parliament have raised concerns that a recent loan for $28o million to Bolivia violates the Iranian constitution. According to Article 80 of the Iranian constitution, "the taking and giving of loans or grants-in-aid, domestic and foreign, by the government, must be approved by Parliament." Apparently this approval of parliament did not happen with this loan and so the government has again violated the constitution.

Also, I call on Evo Morales who claims to support the dignity of all people to reject this loan from Iran until violations of Human Rights have been addressed.

World leaders such as Evo Morales and Hugo Chavez of Venezuela should end their support for the government of Iran immediately. They should not be bribed to support a brutal regime or cooperate with Iran simply because it is against America. There are legitimate concerns about some of the actions taken by American foreign policy in the past, but aligning yourself with this regime to stand up to America is not the way to go. Those leaders of the Left who truly believe in the principals of socialism should realize that the current Iranian regime is a fascist military dictatorship that has no place in the modern world. This regime has imprisoned and killed many Left leaning Iranians over the years and it does not deserve the support of any country in the world.
